This genesis release from Newtownards record label BT23 is somewhat symbolic to the increasingly diverse sounding environments of its surrounding area.
Something of a local romance, the release showcases five very differing artists, all of whom find themselves at the very top of their game, spanning UK rave, screw-face dubstep, soulful groove and electro influence.

Testu opens with ‘Forcefield’, a somewhat reserved beginning makes way for a ravey climax as laser stabs morph and de-construct into melting acid, each stab creating an addictive hysteria throughout moments of breakbeat ecstasy.

Belfast producer MATHESON continues his streak of delightful Soundcloud uploads and label releases with ‘Shivers’, a synthy, sci-fi cut of electro that wobbles and steps its way through the cosmic disco, before Nyla gets all up in your face with ‘Wood Island Bass’ – a lairy cut of dubstep laced w/ metallic electro, influenced by labels such as White Peach, bbbbbb records and Planet Euphorique.

Seti’s ‘Surface Phenomenon’ meanders towards an early evening sunshine hype – bleeps, bloops and squeaks construct a sporadic groove amongst a steady, relaxed aesthetic, before label head Sam Pyper sees out the release with a slice of chugging, romantic and other-worldly electro on ‘For Us’.
